Showcase your Business is “Business Unusual”

There is a need for small and medium entrepreneurs to access information and finance in order to enhance their own personal skills and to ensure the success of their enterprises.

Exhibitions in this country are being recognized as a powerful marketing tool, but there is an increasing trend to link conferences to exhibitions in a joint platform. This is what is proposed for the "Showcase Your Business" Conference/Exhibition in May 2010 which aims to be a premier event of this nature.

Entrepreneurs will be given the opportunity to spend time with the exhibitors discussing areas of mutual interest.

Entertainment is of paramount importance and we aim to create an event that will be remembered as one which contributed hugely to the growth of entrepreneurs on the African continent as we roll out the concept.

Enormous success has been achieved during previous event. This initiative was supported by International Finance Corporation, SEDA, DBSA, International Labour Organisation, Microsoft, FNB and City of Tshwane.

The Concept

South Africa’s rapidly evolving business community is seeing greater numbers of small businesses emerging more than ever before. However, the reality is that most of these companies don’t make it past their first two years especially youth owned businesses, because their owners don’t have the experience, practical skills or support needed to sustain and grow their businesses.

Showcase your business is a short, powerful learning experience that equips small business owners and entrepreneurs with the practical skills they need to grow their companies, whilst giving them the opportunity to attract new business. Not everyone is a natural entrepreneur and even experience in the corporate environment is no guarantee that one has the right skills to run a successful business.

The conference will offer an opportunity for SMMEs to exhibit, and to participate in three full days of games, talks, seminars, hot table events, workshops - an active and fun approach to building an SMME community. There will also be packages of tools and training provided that will allow attendees to leave having tangible results for their business in hand.

The 3 Day Showcase will cover a variety of topics. The point is to do more than pass on knowledge. We want people to build up their confidence as they put their skills into practice, using the incredible opportunity presented by the event to form relationships with other business owners and generate useful leads for future business.

Showcase Your Business is exciting in that it is run by a collective of entrepreneurs who really understand the challenges of running a small business.
